A day in the life for me involves ensuring the toilets are well-maintained, addressing the graffiti and vandalism that occurs regularly, and handling repair jobs here and there. Any day can be different.

One thing that makes my day is seeing kids respect and use things that I build and fix. For instance, I was on a break the other day and looked over and saw kids sitting, having their lunch on the benches I made. It was a great feeling seeing kids actually putting to use the things we build.

Another aspect of this job is that we are always on call. This means that whenever I'm away, I have to keep in the back of my mind the possibility of needing to return to the school. If an alarm goes off or a problem arises, I'm the person they call to handle it all.

To finish my day, I go into the school late at night after the cleaners have gone, lock all the doors, and ensure the alarm is on.
